SK Design Group partnered with with RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture to design the replacement of the existing Shade/Containment Structure for the Gorilla Habitat at the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance. The project involves replacing the existing failing structure with new woven mesh netting containment, new guest barrier fencing/gates, and new PIP surfacing in the guest viewing area. This project was on a fast-track schedule due to fiscal year spending requirements and was also on a very tight budget, so the design implemented a modular/repeatable approach for each of the columns and roof panel sections.
