Boulder, Colorado

SK Design Group, in partnership with ICON Engineering and Plummer, is currently performing a Stormwater Quality Master Plan for the University of Colorado Boulder Campus. The project includes the following 4-step approach:

1. Summarizing the requirements of the MS4 permit for BMPs, BMP design requirements from CU Boulder and the City of Boulder, previous master plans/reports, and establishing CU’s goals/targets/priorities for regionalized stormwater quality on campus.
2. Investigation and Collaboration with CU Staff to understand current challenges associated with stormwater and regional BMPs, evaluating pros/cons of potential regionalized solutions, and studying existing documentation/maps/etc.
3. Hydraulic and Hydrologic Analysis – studying the topography, hydrology, existing infrastructure and adjacent floodplains to understand current stormwater system, identify opportunities for potential solutions, identify improvements needed to satisfy MS4, and provide other recommendations for stormwater improvements.
4. Future Water Quality Implementation – Providing a road map for CU’s next steps for MS4 compliance, summarizing proposed improvements/modifications to stormwater system and prioritizing potential solutions based on matrix type evaluation criteria of cost/maintenance/environment/etc.
